GENERAL INFORMATION
The Municipality of Kipawa has many municipal infrastructures. It has among other things, a water treatment plant, residential sewage, street lighting and a municipal garage. Eagle Village First Nation’s volunteer fire brigade provides fire protection for the Kipawa territory following an agreement signed between both parties.
The municipality has a door to door garbage and recycling collection and a municipal dump.
According to a 2003 financial profile, the Kipawa tax rate if lower than the average tax rate of the RMC and the province. The total standardized land value of taxable property in Kipawa in 2008 is 32 830 000$; we note a large increase compared to 21 013 555$ in 1995. This increase can be attributed to the general maintenance of buildings, the market or new constructions.

Permits – construction, renovation, demolition, septic installation For all new construction, septic installation or for any demolition, modification, renovation to buildings and lots, the by-law states that you must obtain a permit before the start of construction by asking to meet with the municipal inspector.
Septic system emptying
By-law Q2-R8 on evacuation of waste waters of isolated residences states that the septic tank must be pumped out:
- Every 2 years for permanent residence
- Every 4 years for seasonal residence
By-Law 45-96 regarding fire
Before lighting a fire, you must obtain from the Municipality a burning permit. This permit is mandatory and free. For the period of 15 November to 1 April, a burning permit is not required.
By-Law 083 - Protection and safety against fire
The chimney of a building which is connected to a solid or liquid heating system must be swept every year. Smoke detectors are mandatory in all buildings and carbon monoxide detectors are mandatory in new constructions with combustion system or an interior garage.

Animals
It is prohibited to let a dot or cat roam free within the limits of the Municipality. Dog & cat owners must obtain from the Municipality a license for their animal. The rotttweiller, the pit bull, the doberman pinscher are forbidden with the limits of the Municipality. It is prohibited to have more than two dogs and two cats per property. |
